During one of my cruising sessions on Pinterest I came across this blog post about these adorable Owls.
I was smitten immediately and ran upstairs and tried my hand.
If you make some, be sure to stop by Efemera’s blog and let her know, too.

It’s not what you think.
I’m talking about my little Wish Bird. All she lacks is her legs, but I am waiting on buying the necessary copper wire for those.
The birdie in the photos is original size but I’ve also reduced the size of the pattern and am in progress on a smaller version of the same birdie. I think they’ll look charming together in my kitchen window. (note: the second birdie won’t have the little pocket for prayers, sayings, quotes, etc…)
On a totally different subject – I went to The Stitchin’ Post to get fabric for this project and a few others on my to-do list. I found a nice big package of fairly large scraps for sale. I snagged it. It was stuffed with Christmas-themed fabric. Cute prints like snowflakes, trees, Christmas-y birds and such. Then there was one I didn’t see until I got home. It made me LAUGH OUT LOUD! Are you ready? Here it is

I thought of Chloe’s “Man Candy Mondays”. *still chuckling*
I am in love with linen. In the last 2 months I’ve purchased four clothing items made of linen. Three of those purchases were made at Goodwill (I love Goodwill, too). The best one came from J. Jill.
My son doesn’t particularly care for that dress. Too bad for him. I love it. Yet I did chuckle when he yammered on about how my dress was the result of a bad marriage between an apron and a pillowcase.
Since when did an eighteen year-old boy have such strong opinions about his Mothers clothing? oh well…it was a funny observation.
Back to linen: *long contented sigh* It is just the most fabulous fabric. It doesn’t make me itch. It’s as tough as nails and just gets softer and softer with use. What’s not to love?
I’m planning to make some very cute little closet sachets with linen and potpourri. I promise to post pictures when they’re finally finished.
I’m am intent on making several new half-aprons in the next 8-10 days.
I had NO IDEA they would be so popular.
I wish I had time to post pics of the prints I have now. But I don’t.
Just trust me – they’re wild and poppin’ and super fun to look at.
