About

Hi.  My name is Robin and I have crafting A.D.D.   It’s not uncommon for me to have too many projects going at one time.   I DO finish a lot of them though, so I guess that’s good.

I’ve been married to Batman for 26 never-dull years and we have two great kids  (one of whom is already finished with a year of college – whether I’m ready for that or not). They’re known here as Boy Wonder and Bat Girl.

I’ve Home Educated my kids for most of their lives.   I’m definitely not the type of person  to lock down and say, “This is what we’ll always do.”  If a change of direction is needed then let’s change direction and be flexible.

One of my goals in life is to encourage people to truly live.   Don’t just exist.  Live. There was a time in my life when Batman and I were just insanely busy. We were childless for the first almost-seven years of our marriage and when our son was born we just sort of squeezed him into the pace that we were calling “life as we know it”. The Boy Wonder was about 2 years old by the time we woke up and said, “STOP THIS MADNESS”.

This came about as a result of a three-week stretch that involved neither parent being home at the same time for longer than about 1 hour before we’d trade spots and take off for our various other obligations. It took that wild three weeks to grab my attention and give me focus and knock me down long enough for me to grasp the truth. I was pouring my life into so many other things that I had none left for my precious child. That’s when I began applying the brakes to my out of control life. I have never once regretted that decision and I’m certain my son appreciated it, too. He was finally free to really settle in and enjoy his lego creations, his mud pies, his sand castles and his childhood. Finally he would be living his childhood instead of chattering about it from the backseat while he gazed out the window of the car at the little children who were free to play at the park.

Now he would also enjoy the lazy calm that an afternoon at the park had to offer. Now he could eat fruit-juice popsicles as he explored the backyard collecting snails. He wasn’t getting interrupted every hour or two with “Okay, it’s time to go.” We were finally settling down and enjoying a meaningful pace of life. ahhhhhhhh

What does living look like?   It might look like rock climbing or corporate ladder climbing for you.   For me it looks like finding little ways to enjoy being home.   Good home cooked food.  Homemade pillows on the sofa.   Flowers in the yard.  Loose tea steeping in my favorite cup.   Fresh sprouts on my turkey sandwich.   Sewing something cute now and then.   Watching movies with my family in the evenings.   Talking over the back fence with my best good friends next door.   Feeding my four hens (still getting used to this one) and enjoying their antics.   and much more.

So welcome!
